Clarinet Repair:

Minor Overhaul - This will get your clarinet into good playing condition. Everything is checked over and minor repairs are made. This includes up to 2 pads, 1-2 small corks and 1 tenon cork. Other items such as springs, screws and condition of the keys are examined and adjusted. Bent keys are repaired. Screws and rods are lubricated. Adjustments are made and the clarinet is play tested. Additional tenon corks and pads are extra.

If more than six (6) pads will be required, it is our recommendation to do a complete repad.

Clarinet repad & Mechanical Overhaul
In addition to the minor overhaul services, this includes complete disassembly and cleaning. All the pads are replaced with standard double skin pads of the correct thickness. All keys are polished. Keys can be replated for additional cost if required. All tenon corks are replaced unless they are in excellent condition. Springs are replaced where necessary. The clarinet is adjusted and played.

Wood clarinets will have the bore lightly oiled. Cracks in wood clarinets are repaired for an additional charge. Mouthpieces and other accessory repairs are not included.

The first sign, of course, is that the clarinet does not play well, but that could be due to many things. You should check to see if all keys are closing properly and there are no missing pads or obvious leaks. The next check is for holes and tears that expose the underlying felt. See the photos below.

Professional Clarinet Recondition -

For Professional, Vintage and upper Intermediate wood clarinets only.

In addition to the normal repad described above, The wood clarinet body, barrel and bell are then conditioned using natural organic oils. This process allow time for the wood to absorb the oil and react.

All keys are polished and leveled. Keys are swedged as necessary to restore correct action. All pads are replaced using premium quality pads. Adjustment is checked and then the clarinet is played.
