LOW KEY MUSIC
Frequently Asked Questions
Most people now go to the internet first to search for just about anything. You may be looking for a shop that is located near you or looking for a better quality shop. Perhaps you are looking for a specialist for a restoration. You may have some concerns or question regarding our service. Here are some of the most common questions.
Why should I ship my instrument to you instead of using my local shop?
You may be looking for a better quality shop. Unfortunately some shops are so busy with large numbers of student instrument repairs, they do not take time to do the quality of work you want. Also, not all shops will handle complete restorations. Don't let the distance bother you. We communicate well by email and phone to keep you informed of the repair.
Can I trust you?
Of course we would say yes to that, but you need to do some research before you send your instrument to us or any other shop. We have
placed some
Customer Comments on our site for you to read and we can provide references.
How much does it cost for you to look at my instrument and give me a repair cost?
Other than shipping costs, there is no charge to give you a firm price to repair your instrument.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. If there is a problem due to our error or workmanship, we will pay return shipping and correct the problem. We cannot offer
long term guarantees, because there are too many variables out of our control. New finishes can get spotted and things can get out
of adjustment after leaving our shop.
Do you repair all instruments?
No. At this time we do not service double reed instruments or string instruments. Tubas and baritones may be impractical due to shipping
charges. We also do not service inexpensive off brand instruments. See or Purchasing Guide before you buy an inferior instrument.
Where are you located?
In South Carolina. Plese see our Contact Us page for details.
How long does it take for repairs?
The answer to this question depends on the extent of the repair and the amount of work on our schedule. We try to do most minor
repairs within the week received if our schedule permits. Total overhauls and restorations require at least 3 weeks and can take up
to 3-4 months depending on the extent of the services.
